Woman in front of Mt. Rainier

Hi, I’m Andrea!

I grew up in Seattle and spent my childhood hiking and camping around the Pacific Northwest. When I left home at 18, I spent six months traveling in South America, India, and Nepal. After my “gap year” I went to college in Massachusetts, and then lived in the midwest for six years.

After recently moving back home, I am happier than ever exploring the mountains, forests, and beaches of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Walking is my favorite way to get to know a new place, whether I’m hiking a trail in a national park or wandering city streets. My second favorite option is public transportation, and I try to share tips for car-free travel whenever I can.

I love to make the most of any opportunity to travel, and many of my posts include sample 48-hour trip itineraries for planning a weekend getaway. You may see the occasional restaurant recommendation but really, it’s all about the walking! I have posts focused on national parks in the U.S., posts about international travel, and some posts that include tips for travel in cities and towns both in the U.S. and internationally. If you have any questions about any of my trips, please leave a comment, send me an email, or find me on IG – I’d love to help!
